Get to Know Me

My 25 year history working in the field of social service led me to create my private practice. I use a therapeutic approach adapted to each individual. Emphasis is on strength based, solution focused, and positive psychology. I conduct all counseling sessions in a safe, friendly, comfortable, confidential and ethical environment.

My professional career began compassionately as a paid Care-provider for adults with developmental disabilities. I enjoyed being able to assist people to accept life's challenges, adapt in time with a positive outlook and move forward in life with success. I gained further therapeutic experience as an Adult Education Teacher. Overtime, I honed my therapeutic skills by working as a Case Manager for several different agencies including a large residential care facility for adults with developmental disabilities, child protective services, and a family caregiver resource center.

As I went along in my career, I realized there were special segments of our community, namely individuals with developmental disabilities and family caregivers, that are under recognized and under served in regard to mental health care services.  It became my desire to help fulfill this community need by becoming a Therapist in private practice.

I am a California state approved Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional. Additionally, I am a certified Powerful Tools for Caregivers Class Leader.  I am a registered member of California Association of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).  I am also a registered member of National Association for Dually Diagnosed (NADD).

I provide counseling to any individual adult who seeks a safe place to "figure things out" with professional guidance. I offer a specialty in counseling adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and family caregivers. At this time, I am conducting all counseling sessions through telehealth (use of digital information and communication  technologies, such as computers and mobile devices).  Please don't hesitate to contact me to learn more about my services.
